Presentations to former Councillors in recognition of their service to the Community as previous Members of Winchester City Council.

Minutes:

The Mayor firstly presented certificates to former councillors in recognition of their service to their communities and as members of Winchester City Council:

 

·         Thérèse Evans – 28 years – Wickham ward and from 2016, Southwick & Wickham ward and as a member of cabinet 2002-2006 and 2010 - 2011 and also as Mayor 2001-2002.

·         Vicki Weston – 17 years – Swanmore & Newtown ward and from 2016, Central Meon Valley ward and as a member of cabinet 2011-2017.

·         Mike Craske – 4 years – St Barnabas ward.

·         Hannah Williams - 4 years – Badger Farm & Olivers Battery ward and as a member of cabinet 2021.

The Mayor then asked that council record its thanks to former councillors who had been unable to attend the meeting to receive their certificates:

 

·         Tony Bronk – 4 years - Colden Common & Twyford ward.

·         Judy Clementson – 4 years – Denmead ward.

·         Paula Ferguson - 4 years - St Bartholomew ward and as a member of cabinet 2020-2021 and 2022-2023

·         Jonathan Fern – 4 years – Whiteley & Shedfield ward.

·         Derek Green - 10 years – St Luke ward and as Mayor 2022.

·         Hugh Lumby - 5 years – Upper Meon Valley ward.

·         David McLean - 13 years – Bishops Waltham ward and as Mayor 2017-2018.

·         Charles Radcliffe - 2 years – St Michael ward.

 


Meeting: 18/05/2022 - Council (Item 12)

Presentations to former Councillors in recognition of their service to the Community as previous Members of Winchester City Council.

Minutes:

The Mayor firstly presented a certificate to former councillor Roger Bentote in recognition of his service to the communities of the Whiteley & Shedfield ward where he was ward member between 2016 and 2022.

 

The Mayor then presented a certificate to former councillor Lawrence Ruffell in recognition of his service to the communities of the previous Owslebury & Curdridge ward (until 2016) and the Upper Meon Valley ward between 2006 and 2022. 

 

The Mayor then acknowledged the service of other retired members of the Council who had been unable to attend the meeting:

 

Former councillor Anne Weir, in recognition of her service to the communities of the St Barnabas ward where she was ward member between 2012 and 2022 and was also a member of Cabinet between 2019 and 2020.

 

Former councillor Malcolm Prince, in recognition of his service to the communities of the Worthys ward where he was ward member between 2016 and 2022 and was also a member of Cabinet between 2019 and 2021.
